Christian Riesen
From Toreas
Christian Riesen, the creator and author of this little experiment was born in 1979 in the Confederatio Helvetica, otherwise known as Switzerland. He learned English at the age of 9, built his first computer with 12, sold the first one with 14 and had his first server online the same year. Ever since his interest technology but computer and the internet in particular has been strong and accompanied him through his life. After school he went on to an apprenticeship which he quit from after realizing how much it actually was detrimental to his development in the IT business. Working mostly for himself for the past decade, he occasionally also occupied some other jobs, among them selling hardware in a store, programming for a couple of very large websites and being the senior programmer at a medium large firm where he is currently employed.
His personal homepage can be found at christianriesen.com where he posts at random intervals ideas, comments and sometimes even useful tidbits about anything that's interesting him. Like Toreas for example.
His first stories, he wrote in a self admitted terrible handwriting, a treat he has kept to this day. No paper he could write on was safe as a kid. Later he found the ways of a mechanical then electric typewriter a better way to express these things and also gotten early into the way of computers, by simply using them as advanced typewriters. There he also discovered that he could do more, like programming for example.
Toreas is one of the earliest stories that Christian has ever worked on. What today is the story of Toreas has been written on scrap paper, typewriters, at least a dozen different computers, even on PDA's and cellphones over the years. The story has been written, rewritten, scrapped, mutilated, written again or if you want to say it differently, has been refined over the years.
